Sashimi
One of the favorite fish eaten by the Japanese is sashimi, thinly
sliced fresh raw fish served with soy sauce and "wasabi"
(horseradish). Various kinds of fish is served as "otsukuri"
(sashimi) and "Yamakake", "Negitoro", "Nuta" are another
style to eat raw fish. You can enjoy sashimi at Japanese
restaurants, Izakaya (pub-style restaurants) , Sushi restaurants
or simply purchase at supermarkets.

Moriawase
Moriawase is a assorted sashimi. Several kinds of sashimi
are decorated  on a plate. Kinds of fish varies depending on
a season.
Otsukuri (Tai, Maguro, Buri, Kisu, Hotate, Amaegi etc.)
Otsukuri Kaiseki style 1 (Tai, Sayori, and Amaebi)

Another style to eat raw fish
Yamakake, Negitoro, Nuta are also popular.
Yamakake is cube-cutted tuna with grated yam on the top.
Negitoro is pounded tuna with sliced leek on the top.
Nuta is Vinegared fish served with miso and chopped green
onion. Sardine is usually used to make nuta. This is Aji
(Horse mackerel) no nuta.




Izakaya Toyo
Very unique stand-up pub. One plate of Maguro (tuna) no
sashimi
, one plate of Ikura (salmon roe) and Uni (sea
urchin)
, one plate of tuna stake grilled by gas banner
and more, everything is 500 yen. People are lining up
before it is opened at 5pm.
Mr. Toyo is quite friendly and easy to get along with.
Good taste. It's located in Kyobashi, Oosaka.
